A new construction, Jefferson Community and Technical College is a state-of-the-art facility with technology intense classrooms and labs for hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, electronics, welding and other applied process technologies. Industrial educational programs use a plant floor model mirroring the interdisciplinary nature of tomorrow’s work force.
EOP Architects chose Aspecta Five for common areas and the first and second floors of the facility. The rock outcroppings along the river beside the college were the inspiration for the layout of the building and the floor. The three different colors and widths of Aspecta created a sense of texture and movement with the curve in the lobby leading to the outside. The industrial look of concrete floors was achieved in the technical areas. The client required durability, easy maintenance and longevity in addition to aesthetics and found all those things in Aspecta Five.
